Overview
Custom tags in Grant Frog let you add personalized information to grant proposals beyond the standard fields. This feature is particularly useful for tracking organization-specific details like regional territories, partner agencies not listed in the system, internal categories, or any other custom data points relevant to your grants management process.
Once tags are created, you can filter and generate reports based on them, making it easy to analyze your grants portfolio from different angles.

Step-by-Step Tutorial
Step 1: Access the Tags Management Page
Navigate to the Tags menu section in Grant Frog. This is your central hub for managing all custom tags where you can add new tags, edit existing ones, or delete tags you no longer need.
Step 2: Create a New Custom Tag
Click the Add New Tag button
Enter your tag name (for example, "Northeast Region" if you're tracking geographical areas)
Click Save
Your new tag is now available to use across all grant proposals.
Step 3: Add Tags to a Grant Proposal
There are two ways to tag a proposal:
Option A: From within the grant proposal
Open the specific grant proposal you want to tag
Locate the Tags section
Select your desired tag from the dropdown menu
The tag will automatically be applied to that proposal
Option B: Add a new tag on the fly
You can also create a new tag directly from within a grant proposal if you realize you need one while working on a specific grant.
Step 4: Filter and Report on Tagged Proposals
Go to the Reports section
Select the Grant Proposals report type
Click the Filter Tags option
Choose the tag(s) you want to filter by
The report will display all proposals with your selected tag
Step 5: Combine Filters for Advanced Reporting
You can combine tag filters with other criteria to create more specific reports:
Date requested
Proposal status
Other available filters
This allows you to generate targeted reports like "all Northeast Region proposals submitted in Q1" or "pending proposals for Partnership Program A."
Ideas for Using Custom Tags

Partner organizations not tracked elsewhere in the system
Internal program categories specific to your organization
